Christian Keeling, a sophomore guard on the Men’s basketball team, is this week’s Wingate by Wyndham Student-Athlete of the Week after excelling over the last week for the Bucs.
Keeling, a standout athlete and one of the top scorers in the conference continued his success over the past three games against UNC Asheville, Campbell, and Gardner-Webb.
The 6-4 guard led the team with 22 points and four assists against UNC Asheville. Defensively, he also made his presence with five defensive rebounds and one steal.
In just under 40 minutes against Campbell, Keeling led the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists with 12 points, seven total rebounds (two offensive, five defensive), and three assists.
Keeling finished the week with a statement game against Gardner-Webb this past Sunday. He helped lead the Bucs to a victory scoring 26 points (season-high), added two assists, had three rebounds, and a steal.
So far this season Keeling leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game and is shooting 83% at the free throw line.
