CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern overcame a 7-2 deficit with a seven-run third inning and held on to beat visiting Campbell, 14-10, in baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Buccaneer Field.
Junior outfielder Justin Fyle sparked the comeback with two homeruns, finishing with three hits and five RBI as the Bucs improved to 2-5 on the season. Junior first baseman Anthony Hayes had two RBI and sophomore designated hitter Keith Stewart had a homerun and three hits to aid in the attack.
CSU finished with a season-high 13 hits on the day as eight players tallied at least one hit. The Buccaneers scored in four consecutive innings and led 14-8 into the ninth.
Campbell's Dan Forbes had three hits, including two homeruns, and finished with four RBI to pace the Camels. Campbell (0-2) picked up 17 hits on the day.
Junior Ryan Rowland earned the victory, improving to 2-0 on the season. Rowland worked four and a third innings, allowing one run on six hits.
