SAAC and Outback Team Up For Fundraiser

CHARLESTON, S.C. - On April 12, 2006, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a successful fundraiser luncheon at Outback Steakhouse in North Charleston. SAAC representatives from each CSU athletic team sold tickets to faculty, staff, students, and people in the community. The majority of the luncheon’s proceeds will go to the disaster relief funds of the American Red Cross and the Humane Society of the United States.

Danielle Baskin, SAAC president and Women’s Basketball representative, developed the idea for the luncheon and contacted the folks at Outback. Even though Outback is not open for lunch, the staff was glad to help, and opened their doors to SAAC.

“The staff at Outback went well beyond what was expected,” said Baskin. “They were very accommodating and terrific to work with. We will definitely continue to work with them in the future.”
