Rowland Named Summer League Pitcher of the WeekJune 28, 2006By CSU Sports Information Ryan Rowland |
RALEIGH, N.C. – Buccaneer pitcher Ryan Rowland was tabbed the Rawlings Pitcher of the Week for week three of action (June 19 – June 25) in the Coastal Plain League.
On the mound, Rowland made two appearances, finishing with 13 complete innings pitched for a 2-0 record and perfect 0.00 ERA on the week. The 6-1, 200-pound lefty only surrendered five hits, no runs in that time, while walking five and striking out four batters. Even more impressive was that Rowland held opposing batters to just a .119 average.
The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league, now in its 10th season. Featuring 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the CPL is certified by Major League Baseball, and gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. |
