Ross Named 1-AA.Org All-StarOctober 25, 2006By CSU Sports Information Jada Ross |
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Following his 20-tackle performance in Charleston Southern's 27-22 victory over V.M.I., junior linebacker Jada Ross has been named one of I-AA.ORG's weekly all-stars.
Ross had 20 tackles, including six tackles and a sack on the final VMI drive of the game as undefeated Charleston Southern held on for a 27-22 victory at VMI in a Big South Conference game. Ross had eight solo stops, 12 assists, one and a half tackles for losses of three yards, a key sack and a fumble recovery as the Buccaneer defense allowed just two touchdowns on the day. It was the second 20-tackle game of the year for Ross, who also had 20 against North Greenville on Sept. 30. The preseason defensive player of the year in the Big South, Ross had one of his tackles for loss and the fumble recovery on the same drive in the fourth quarter. On VMI's last possession, Ross helped finish off the win by combining for a sack on third down -- one of six tackles on that drive -- to set up the fourth-down play that ended VMI's upset hopes.
