MT. PLEASANT, SC—The Cougars from the College of Charleston jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back as they avenged a 17-9 loss to the Bucs, beating CSU 9-1, Tuesday night at Patriots Point Stadium.

The Cougars started the damage in the bottom of the first with a Chris Campbell two-run homer to left field scoring Stuart Haywood from second. The damage continued into the second inning with an Oliver Marmol triple into right center that scored Hutson Dodds and Alex Garabedian. Haywood continued the scoring again with a single to right field scoring Marmol. The Cougars were not finished however, in the fourth inning as Harrington and Haywood scored off of a Michael Kohn single into left field. The last of the scoring was completed off of a Dodds solo home run into left field. The lone Buc run was off an Anthony Hayes single through the left side scoring Adam Brown.

Mike Mead takes the loss for the Bucs dropping him to 1-3 on the season, while Curtis Dowling takes the win for the Cougars improving his record to 1-0. Hayes and Keith Stewart each recorded two hits, as the Bucs pounded out nine hits, but left 11 runners on base.

The Bucs are back in action at Buccaneer Field Wednesday, March 21 against Maryland Eastern-Shore, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
