The top of the Bear order accounted for eight of their 10 runs on the day as Brown out hit the Bucs 14-9. It is the third-straight game that Brown has had at least 12 hits, and the fifth time this season. Brown broke the game open in the third inning as they put together a two-out rally to score four runs.

Charleston Southern would score their first run in the fourth when Justin Fyle led off the inning with a single. A double to left-center by Keith Stewart would score Fyle and cut the lead to 4-1.

A single by Devin Thomas scored the fifth run of the game for Brown. Charleston Southern would answer in the bottom of the sixth with Stephen Herzog scoring on a wild pitch. They would threaten again, but left 12 men on base in the loss.

Brown would run away from the Bucs scoring three runs in the seventh and two more in the ninth.

Fyle and Stewart each recorded two hits, as Fyle reached base all but once, drawing two walks. D.J. Throneburg took the loss for CSU, falling to 2-5 on the season while Jeff Dietz earned his first win of the season on the mound for Brown.

The two teams will play the final game against each other Monday afternoon at Buccaneer Field with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
