27 Student-Athletes Receive Degrees at May Graduation

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Twenty-seven student-athletes received undergraduate and graduate degrees on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Charleston Southern’s commencement ceremonies at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Several Bucs received special recognition at commencement, including Allen Batiste, who was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Batiste is the first four year student athlete to complete CSU’s Air Force ROTC program.

Women’s golfer Morgan Fuqua, who graduated cum laude, was also recognized as a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society.

Other Bucs graduating with distinction were Katie Crona (Women’s Soccer) cum laude; Erica McCoy (Women’s Basketball) magna cum laude; Adam Sieg (Men’s Golf) cum laude; and Matthew Steele (Baseball) magna cum laude.

Jovan Jegdic, a former member of the Men’s Basketball team, received his Master of Business Administration. Jovan received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the university in December 2005.
