Bucs Enjoy Additional Media Coverage for 2007-08 School Year

By CSU Sports Information

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The 2006 football season saw school records fall with a 14-game winning streak and a 9-2 record. For the 2007 season, fans can expect to find the Buccaneers with a record amount of media coverage.

For the first time in school history, the Buccaneer football and men’s basketball games will be broadcast on the FM radio dial as Charleston Southern partners up with Jabar Communications, putting the games on 106.3 FM. Josh Maurer will deliver all of the play-by-play action for the football and men’s basketball seasons, while former CSU assistant coach, Jon Davis will serve as the color commentator for football. The Jay Mills Coaches Show will also be available on 106.3 FM every Wednesday, starting Aug. 29, at 7 p.m.

Two of the CSU football games can also be found on TV, with contests at Gardner-Webb and the home finale against Coastal Carolina each being broadcast on Fox SportSouth.

Having provided online video broadcasts for each of the Big South women’s basketball home games during 2006-07, CSU is expanding their online coverage through the Big South’s website service, “The Edge.” Fans can join “The Edge” on a subscription basis and catch all five home football games, as well as each of the home games for men’s and women’s basketball this year. Charleston Southern will also broadcast a game of the week in women’s soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball.
