|Nick Chinners and Tyler Thornburg are two Bucs who are playing in summer leagues|
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The CSU baseball team has again dispersed for the summer, competing in a number of summer competitive leagues.
First baseman, and sophomore, Nick Chinners is making his name known in the Tar Heel Summer League. Chinners earned Player of the Week honors, after hitting .526 with 8 RBI and a homerun to start the season. His coach, John Meulendyke, had this to say about his efforts in his blog (http://pagelandredroosters.blogspot.com).
"Nick has done a great job on and off the field. He has quickly become a team leader and is a fine young man. He is a very good offensive and defensive first baseman with some great baseball IQ."
Sophomore Tyler Thornburg made the move to the bullpen for the Winchester Royals, immediately finding success. David Selig of the Winchester Star wrote about Thornburg's debut in the closer role.
