Nine Bucs Make All-Star RostersJuly 10, 2008By CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. – As the All-Star teams came out, a total of nine Buccaneers were honored, including four from the Southern Collegiate Baseball League, including the late addition of Nick Chinners and Kory Morian. Mark Perry and Jesse Cadenhead were each named to the SCBL North team, and they will face off against Stew Brase and Anthony Markham, who were named to the South team. In the Valley League, Andrew White and Tyler Thornburg, both of the Winchester Royals, were named to the North team. Brandon Roberts made the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League All-Star roster for the Mauka Warriors, while Michael Beattie made the Makai Islander's roster in the same league. One of the latest leagues to announce their all-star teams was the Tarheel league, where the rosters included both Chinners at first base, and Morian at second. The all-star game, however, never happened due to storms in the area, but the pair was able to warm up in front of a number of fans and scouts. The Great Lakes League (Brantley Meier) have not announced their all-star rosters at this time. |
