Maurer Moves to UMassJuly 22, 2008

AMHERST, Mass. - Josh Maurer, the voice of the Buccaneers for the past two years, announced Monday that he is leaving his position to become the Manager of Broadcast Properties for UMass.
"Josh is a rising star in the broadcasting profession," said Yellin. "He has a wealth of experience calling games at three universities and in minor league baseball. Josh has a versatile background having working in media relations along with broadcasting in each of his stops. He also has tremendous knowledge when it comes to production with television and the Internet. This total package makes him an ideal candidate for our unique position at UMass."
Maurer called football and men's basketball at Charleston Southern, where he also hosted the weekly coaches' shows and worked in the media relations office. Along with calling games at CSU, Maurer has been the voice of the Charleston RiverDogs, the New York Yankees' Class-A affiliate in the South Atlantic League, since 2005. He also aided the RiverDogs media relations office in various roles.
A national search for Maurer's replacement is currently underway.
