Parnell Has Solid Mets DebutSeptember 16, 2008By CSU Sports Information WASHINGTON, D.C. - On the road against the Nationals, former CSU pitcher Bobby Parnell made his MLB debut for the New York Mets, pitching a spotless eighth inning. Parnell's debut lasted just eight pitches as he retired the side in order, Monday night. His first pitch came 15 days after he was called up to the Major League squad. With his appearance, he becomes the second pitcher from CSU to ever appear in a MLB game, doing so just two months after R.J. Swindle became the first in an appearance with the Phillies. The Mets are currently in first place and have a half-game lead over the Phillies. |
