Bucs Help Lead South To Historic Victory in East Coast BowlDecember 10, 2008By CSU Sports Information Seniors Donald Fondren, Josh Mitchell and Tribble Reese used their Thanksgiving break to participate in the eighth-annual East Coast Bowl in Petersburg, Va., helping lead the South team to their second-ever victory over the North, 27-0, at Cameron Field. Reese, Fondren and the offense moved the ball down the field to set up a field goal to start the scoring for the South. Meanwhile, Mitchell and the defense helped stifle the North, pitching the first shut out in East Coast Bowl history. Reese finished the day 7-21 passing for 54 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed the ball five times. Mitchell was tied for third for the South with six tackles, including four solo stops. Half of his tackles were behind the line of scrimmage including one sack. The game featured 68 of the best Division I-FCS, II, III and NAIA players from 33 different states. All revenue generated from this event is used to award a high school student who will attend a Division I-FCS, II, III or NAIA college with financial assistance.
