Buccaneer Baseball Travels to LibertyMarch 12, 2009By CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern will travel outside the state of South Carolina for the first time this season as they play a three-game Big South series against the Liberty Flames. Charleston Southern is currently 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the Big South after having won the series against UNC Asheville last weekend. Full Game Notes Live Stats Charleston Southern is coming off a mid-week split in which they came from behind to beat Savannah State 7-5, but lost to College of Charleston 14-3. This weekend will serve as the Big South opener for Liberty, who holds a 9-3 overall record, and a 31-19 lead in the series. The Flames are coming off an 18-13 victory over William and Mary. Liberty scored 13 of their 18 runs in the first three innings of the game and scored in all but two innings. They went through five W & M pitchers and took advantage of seven William and Mary errors. |
