Bucs Host Keydets for Conference Series, Game NotesMarch 27, 2009

The Virginia Military Keydets will take the filed against the home-team Buccaneers for a three game series March 27-29. The Keydets enter the game off two losses. Their latest loss to Richmond went 11 innings and the Keydets dropped by one run for a final of 1-2. Their previous loss was to conference rival UNC Asheville after winning the first two of the series at home.

The Keydets are 10-12 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.
Averaging .295 as a team, the Keydet starters are lead from the plate by junior Jordan Ballard with .351 in 20 games. Ballard leads with 46 total bases and 24 RBI.
Second basemen A.J. Yoder is close behind with .344 and 33 hits in 22 games, while right fielder Sam Roberts has 18 RBI a team-leading 22 runs.
The Bucs enter the game after finishing their suspened game against Air Force, dropping by a final of 18-16. The Bucs outscored the Falcons 10-6 in the second half of the game, but the Falcons early lead pushed them to the victory after the Bucs came back to tie the game at 15 runs apiece.
The Bucs are batting .311 as team lead from the plate by freshman Patrick Dolan, who is hitting .396, thanks in part to his five homers so far this season. First Basmen Nick Chinners is second with a .375.
VMI Game Schedule Change
The Bucs have announced that the three game series has been revised to include three days of games, instead of just two. The Bucs have split the double header scheduled for Saturday to single nine-inning games on Saturday and Sunday instead. Both rescheduled games are slated for 1:30 p.m. at Buccaneer Ballpark.
Baseball Adds Game at Citadel
The Buccanner baseball team in conjunction with the The Citadel baseball team anounced that they would add a game Monday April 13 at 6 p.m. to be played at The Citadel. The addition is to help make up games that both teams have been forced to cancel due to inclement weather.

Senior Kory Morian currently holds the longest hitting streak for the Bucs, at 13 games with at least one hit.
Lead-off batter, Scotty Radabaugh leads the team for most hits in a single game, with four against College of Charleston on March 11. Thornburg and Morian joined the rank in their March 17 game at Auburn with four apiece, while Dolan did the same on March 22 at Gardner-Webb.
In the Bucs’ March 17 game against Auburn, Patrick Dolan, Scotty Radabaugh, and Tyler Thornburg all tied the program record for at-bats in a single game with seven each.
The Bucs currently have six players batting over .300, with three are over .350. Freshman Patrick Dolan leads the way with .396.
