Bucs Meet Eagles for Conference Series, Game NotesApril 2, 2009By CSU Sports Information The Bucs continue their road series as they head to Rock Hill, S.C. for a conference series against the Eagles of Winthrop University. Winthrop enters the contest holding the advantage 42-20. The Eagles were in Charleston on April 1, when they took on the Citadel winning the contest 12-9. Earlier in the week the Eagles took on Radford winning the first and dropping the last two, bringing their conference record to 6-3. Complete Game Notes Listen Live Live Stats The Bucs won two of three against the Eagles last season. The Eagles enter the game batting .306, just a step ahead of the Bucs’ .303 team average. The Eagles starters are lead from the plate by Eddie Tisdale who is batting a .400 average in 26 games. Tisdale has seen more time at the plate than any other Eagle, and leads the team in runs (23), hits (42) and ties for the lead in RBI with 23. Teammate John Murrian is batting .356 and leads the team in extra base hits with nine, while Eddie Rohan leads in home runs with seven. The Bucs enter the game off a late rally loss to the Volunteers of Tennessee on Wednesday night. Red-shirt sophomore Nick Chinners hit his fourth homer of the season at Tennessee, the Bucs’ 30th team shot. Chinners currently leads the team in batting with a .387 average while former leader, freshman Patrick Dolan, is second for the Bucs with a .381. Dolan has also hit several over the fence, and leads the team with six homers.
