CSU Football Preview - Wide ReceiversAugust 21, 2009By CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. – Leading up to the much-anticipated kickoff against the defending BCS National Champion Florida Gators, CSUsports.com will do a position-by-position breakdown of the 2009 Charleston Southern Buccaneers. Today we feature the wide receivers. Now in his seventh year, wide receiver has never seemed to be a concern for Head Coach Jay Mills, and 2009 is no different. Seven of the top eight pass-catchers from last year will return, including preseason All-Big South selection Gerald Stevenson (Jr.). Tim Jones (Sr.) and David Bowen (R-So.) add size, while Kwame Krakue will add speed and is expected to get additional touches. Alex Neal returns for his second season, and Greg Fiegel, who was named the 2009 Most-Improved Wide Receiver during spring practice, will both see significant playing time. Newcomers Anthony Chalmers (R-So.) and Deon Lee (Jr.) have already impressed the coaches and team and will give the Bucs excellent depth once again. CSU will open the season with a 7 p.m. kickoff in Gainesville, Fla., on Sept. 5. The game will be televised by the Fox Sports Network.
