“I think our goals have never changed from the outset. We scheduled very difficultly from the beginning on purpose. Our University has a vision of becoming a Christian University nationally recognized for integrating faith in leading learning and serving. Football is a flagship opportunity for such a stage and for such a vision statement to reach a multitude of people. Many people have told me, even on the USF staff, that we are still receiving mention with regards to the Florida game two weeks ago and a lot of publicity for this game too. We want to honor God in everything that we say think and do and as a father would tell his son, as long as we do our best, if the best results in the outcome we had today, you can live with that. You have no regrets. You have failures in life, but you have to handle those failures in an honorable manor.”

“USF is obviously an excellent football team. We expect them to contend for the Big East title and play in a major bowl game. The future is very bright for USF. I saw some things that were very comparable to Florida, especially at the wide receiver position.”

On making mistakes
“A lot of our wounds tonight were self inflicted, but they are correctable. Some of that had to do with playing a really good football team, some of it had to do with crowd noise, a number of things occurred because we didn’t execute to the best of our ability. I felt like our effort was good, I liked that ‘look in their eyes’ so-to-speak. We have some things to correct, but I know we have the coaching staff to do that and the players to do that.”
