CSU wraps up fall season at Pinehurst ChallengeNovember 2, 2009Courtesy Simon Whitaker, College of Charleston Media Relations PINEHURST, N.C. - Head Coach Kory Thompson and the Charleston Southern University women’s golf team will compete in the Pinehurst Challenge held Nov. 2-3 at Pinehurst #6 in Pinehurst, N.C. Fifteen teams will compete in the 36-hole tournament at the Par- 72, 6,004-yard course. The tournament is hosted by College of Charleston. CSU and College of Charleston are joined at the event by Appalachian State, The Citadel, Creighton, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Old Dominion, Radford, South Carolina State, Western Carolina, Wichita State and Winthrop. The first round will be a fixed tee start with the Lady Bucs going off from the 1st hole beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday's round will be a shotgun format starting at 8:45 a.m. CSU had last week off after posting a 7th-place finish at the Wendy's Invitational. 2009 Big South Golfer of the Year Olivia Jordan-Higgins finished 2nd individually at the event. The tournament is the final event of the fall season for the Lady Bucs. |
