Postgame quotes from CSU vs. StetsonNovember 21, 2009CHARLESTON, S.C. - Postgame quotes from CSU senior center Billy Blackmon and head coach Barclay Radebaugh after the team’s 80-64 victory over Stetson: C Billy Blackmon On the way the post players defended Stetson: “I feel like (our post players) did a really good job of blocking shots and being active.” On not panicking after losing a 13-point lead: “It’s about maturity. I feel like last year, we would have folded after they game back and took the lead. This year (in the preseason) we did a lot of mental toughness drills to prepare for that situation.” On how the team is learning to play within their roles: “Coach tells us a lot that people just need to know their role and do what they do best to help the team. In my case, I’m not a scorer, but I rebound and run the floor and do my job.” Head Coach Barclay Radebaugh On the play of Tom Tankelewicz: “Tom hit some big shots. He has a tremendous amount of confidence. He was the best (high school) shooter in the state of North Carolina. We’re really lucky to have him, and the light has come on for him. He’s not only shooting the ball well, but he was very good defensively.” On his team’s defensive effort: “The key to his was that we contested shots. They missed 47 shots and shot 32% for the night. If we can force other teams to do that consistently, we’re going to win a lot of games.” On the play of Jamarco Warren: “Jamarco runs the show for us. He never lost his poise. He’s improved his game tremendously over the last season. He may average fewer points this season and be a much better player.” On Monday’s game against Trinity: “I don’t think anything is going to be easy for us; every game we play is going to be the most important game. We’re going to enjoy this one for a couple of hours, but I already have two films sitting on my desk of Trinity games.” Full Game Recap |
