BUIES CREEK, NC - Campbell University belted three homeruns, including a second inning grand slam, and defeated the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, 14-4, at Taylor Field on Friday afternoon. Campbell ripped off 18 hits off three CSU pitchers.
Campbell (6-6) touched up CSU starter Brad Bissell for nine runs on 12 hits in 5 2/3 innings, hitting the grand slam and a three-run homer to chase the lefty. Bissell falls to 2-3 on the season, losing two games this week. The loss was CSU's third straight.
Junior shortstop Billy Dalton and junior outfielder Brian Sole had two hits each for the Bucs, while freshman outfielder Jason Rose hit his first collegiate homerun. CSU managed nine hits on the day but were hurt by four errors.
The two teams play again on Saturday at 1 p.m. Sophomore right-hander Bobby Parnell will start for the Bucs.Related Item: Box Score
