Day One Results From Hokie InvitationalJanuary 22, 2010By CSU Sports Information BLACKSBURG, Va. – The women’s track and field team took to the track, Friday, for the 2010 Virginia Tech Hokie Invitational, the first meet back from Christmas break for the Lady Buccaneers. Patria Norman and Channell Futrell started the meet off for CSU, running 9.61 and 10.17 respectively in the 60m hurdles. Norman claimed 27th overall, while Futrell was 31st. Jessica Thomas was the top finisher in the 60m dash at 21st, clocking in at 7.81 seconds, edging out South Carolina’s Breeanna Hubbard by 0.001 seconds. Brittney Greer ran 8.12 seconds to finish 30th. The lone CSU representative in the mile run, Hallie Wright clocked in at 6:13.47, while Susanna McKee ran the 600m run in 1:50.72. In the only field event of the day, Tia Habersham and Breeann Guerra competed in the weight throw. Habersham tossed it 13.48m (44-2.75) for 21st place, while Guerra failed to get a countable mark on her three attempts. The meet will continue tomorrow morning with Ellynn Decker competing in the women’s high jump at 9 a.m. Adrienne Cuff will be the first on the track for CSU in the 5,000m run at 11 a.m.
