Bucs Conclude Spring Drills With 2010 Memorial Spring GameApril 5, 2010By CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern football team will conclude spring drills with the 2010 Memorial Spring Game, Saturday, April 10 at 2 p.m. Prior to the game, the first-ever gathering of the CSU Football Alumni Club will meet for a reception starting at noon in the Gold Room on campus. Coach Jay Mills and his staff will also hand out the spring’s most improved awards at halftime, and will name the 2010 Edward A. Gadson Memorial Scholarship winner. “Going into this final week of spring practice, I am really encouraged by how hard this group plays and works,” said Mills. “Our effort has consistently been at the winning level throughout the spring.” A postgame BBQ will be held as a fundraiser for the Edward A. Gadson Scholarship immediately following the contest at Buccaneer Field. Scoring for the spring game is as follows: Offense Traditional scoring plus one point for drives of eight plays or more Defense Forced Punt (Three & Out) - 1 Point QB Sack - 1 Point Tackle for Loss - 1 Point Fumble Recovery - 3 Points Interception - 4 Points Touchdown - 7 Points In last year's 2009 Memorial Spring Game, the offense prevailed for the first time in Mills' tenure with a 25-22 victory over the defense. |
