CHARLOTTE, NC - Charleston Southern junior center fielder Jordan Haar was named the Choice Hotels Big South Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending March 28.
In five games last week, Haar went 9-for-16 at the plate (.563) with three homeruns, eight RBI and six runs scored. The junior from Vero Beach, Florida also walked six times and had four stolen bases in helping the Buccaneers win two of their first three conference games against Liberty last weekend.
Haar raised his batting average nearly 40 points during the week and is now hitting .330 for the season. Haar leads the BUcs with six homeruns and 20 RBI and needs one homerun to become CSU's career homerun leader. Haar currently has 29 career homeruns, which ties him with former Buccaneer Mark Parrish, who has held the career homerun record since 1979.
Haar and the Buccaneers enter a nine-game road stretch beginning today, playing at Gardner-Webb. The Buccaneers play at The Citadel on Wednesday before heading to UNC Asheville for a weekend series in Big South play. |
