ASHEVILLE, NC - Freshman first baseman Graham Maiden went five-for-five with four RBI and junior lefty R. J. Swindle scattered five hits over eight innings as the Charleston Southern Buccaneers earned a 10-2 victory over UNC Asheville in Big South Conference action on Friday.

Charleston Southern (14-16, 3-1) tallied 13 hits in the victory, their fourth win in the last five games. Another freshman, designated hitter Jason Rose, had two hits and a RBI while shortstop Billy Dalton added two RBI as well.

UNC Asheville falls to 12-14 overall and 2-2 in the Big South. The Bulldogs managed only six hits in the game, scratching across single runs in the eighth and ninth innings.

Swindle struck out five and walked two in eight innings while improving to 5-2 on the season. The victory, the 21st of his career, leaves him two wins shy of tying the career wins record at CSU. Swindle has won his last four starts, striking out 40 hitters over his last 29 innings.

The same two teams meet on Saturday with the series finale on Sunday.
