Jay Mills Radio Show Begins Tuesday; Bucs Sign On For Year Two With Kirkman BroadcastingAugust 31, 2010By CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. – With the first Jay Mills Radio Show airing tonight from Wild Wing Café in North Charleston, Charleston Southern University announced changes to the radio broadcasts for the 2010, including the hiring of Andrew Allegretta as the play-by-play voice for the Buccaneers in 2010-11. Remaining as part of the Kirkman Broadcasting Network for the second year in a row, 10 of the 11 football games will be heard on 1450 AM, with the contest against Hawaii being aired on 106.3 FM. The Jay Mills and Barclay Radebaugh Coaches’ Shows, which will air each Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m., will be broadcast live from Wild Wings in North Charleston. Fans are invited to come out and join in the event, receiving a discount off their order as part of the show. Hosting the shows and also serving as the Voice of the Buccaneers is Allegretta, a Syracuse graduate who most recently worked as the broadcaster and media relations director for the Walla Walla Sweets baseball team in Washington. As a student at Syracuse’s renowned S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Allegretta called numerous football, men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse games on the student radio station, becoming the first member of his class to be approved for on-air broadcasting. The first football broadcast will be Saturday, September 4 as CSU takes on North Greenville for a 1:30 p.m., kickoff. Allegretta and color commentator Jon Davis will go on the air on 1450 AM at 1 p.m. |
