GREENVILLE, SC - Furman University made the most of their 10 hits and took advantage of five Charleston Southern errors in defeating the visiting Buccaneers, 14-0, in non-conference baseball action on Wednesday night.
Furman improves to 17-22 with the victory while Charleston Southern drops to 17-24 on the year. CSU travels to VMI for a three-game Big South Conference series this weekend.
CSU managed just four hits, three of them singles, in dropping their seventh game in their last eight outings. The five errors commited defensively led to six unearned runs. It was the second time this season the Bucs have commited five errors in a game. Starter Ian Holmen took the loss, dropping to 3-4 on the season.
Furman scored two runs in the second and added two in the third for a 4-0 lead, then put the game away with a three-run fourth and four more runs in the sixth. Related Item: Box Score |
