CSU vs. GWU Game Notes AvailableOctober 13, 2010By CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. - Game Notes for Saturday's football game between Charleston Southern University and Gardner-Webb are now available for media use. The Buccaneers and Runnin’ Bulldogs will face off Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Charleston, S.C. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN3.com Charleston Southern is coming off a 44-20 loss to Liberty that was closer than the final score would indicate. The Bucs held the Big South’s top-scoring offense to just 16 points going into the fourth quarter, but turnovers on four-straight possessions late in the game proved too much to overcome. Charles James set the CSU record, tying the Big South mark with three interceptions in the game, while Gerald Stevenson tied the NCAA and Big South record, setting a new CSU mark as well with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, the longest return allowable in college football. Gardner-Webb’s season started off right with two victories, including a win over Akron of the FBS ranks, but the Runnin’ Bulldogs are in the midst of a three-game losing streak. The Bulldogs had a bye week last weekend, but fell 14-7 at Old Dominion the weekend before. GWU had a chance to tie the game late, but was unable to move the football and had to punt with under three minutes to go in the game. Saturday's game can be heard on WQNT 1450 AM in the Charleston area and can be viewed live on the internet through ESPN3.com. The game is the second in a row that will be televised, and the first of two this season that will be broadcast from Buccaneer Field. CSU Notes Big South Weekly Release Game Note Central |
