Stevenson Tabbed The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS National Player of the Week

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Chalk one more honor up for senior wide receiver and kick returner Gerald Stevenson, who was named The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week. It is the first time this season that a Buccaneer has earned the distinction from The Sports Network.

Stevenson also earned Big South Special Teams Player of the Week, CFPA National Kick Returner of the Week, and CSU Athlete of the Week honors for his performance on Saturday against Gardner-Webb. Stevenson returned a pair of kickoffs for touchdowns, becoming the first player in Big South history to do so. His 92 yard return was featured on ESPN's Top-10 plays as the #7 play on Saturday. He also returned a squibbed kick 81 yards for a score later in the game. Stevenson finished the day with 389 all-purpose yards, breaking the CSU and Big South records. He averaged 48.6 yards per return on five kickoff returns.

Stevenson returned the first kickoff for a touchdown in his career the previous week against Liberty, taking it back 100 yards for the score.
