CHARLESTON, S.C. - The CSU men's basketball team will look to bounce back from last weekend's heartbreaking loss at Coastal Carolina when they face the Milligan Buffaloes on Saturday at the Buc Dome in a 4:30 p.m. match up. The game will be finish off a double-header, with the Lady Bucs taking on Pfeiffer at 2 p.m.
Saturday marks the seventh all-time meeting between the Buccaneers and the Buffaloes with the series tied at 3-3. However, the two teams have not seen each other in over 25 years, with their last meeting coming in the 1973-74 season. The Buffaloes came away with the 74-67 win in that contest. The 34-year span between meetings is currently the longest in Buccaneer history.

The Buffs enter Saturday’s contest at 3-6 after defeating Southern Wesleyan University 104-77 on Saturday. After losing its first four games of the season, Milligan has won three of its last five. The Buffs, who are NAIA Division II, share common opponents with the Buccaneers in Montreat and Bluefield. The Bucs defeated Montreat 103-85, while neither team has faced Bluefield this season. Hudson Fricke leads Milligan with 17.25 points per game with Justin Sylvester averaging 6.00 rebounds per game.

Morrell Faces Alma Mater
CSU assistant coach Mike Morrell will face off against his alma mater on Saturday when the Buccaneers take on the Milligan Buffaloes. Morrell was a three-year starter for the Buffs and helped the team to the NAIA National Tournament as a freshman in 2000-01. He finished his career with over 1,400 points and ranks in the top 10 in all-time scoring. Morrell was also a two-time all conference golfer who led the Buffs to the conference title in 2003.
