Lady Bucs Shoot 315 to Stay in 25th at Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic February 21, 2011KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The CSU women’s golf team improved nine strokes to hold steady in 25th place after two rounds at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic on Monday at the Oak Point and Cougar Point Courses on Kiawah Island. The Bucs have a team score of 324-315-639 and are 64 over par. They remain tied with Jacksonville for 24th place. The University of Miami has taken sole possession of first place with a two round score of 296-297-593 for 17 over. Torey Johnson improved nine strokes from the first round to jump 52 spots. She shot 82-73-155 thus far and is 11 over par. She is now tied for 52nd place. Teammate Katelyn Bensch also saw improvements, with her second round score of 73 beating yesterday’s 83 by ten strokes. She holds a combined score of 156 through two rounds and is tied for 61st place at 12 over. Amanda D’Ostroph is also in 61st place, carding a 76-80-156. She is also 12 over. Vanessa Jay shot 83-89-172 and is 28 over, finishing the second round in a tie for 154th place. Jordan Hollinshead went 90-89-179 and is in 164th place after the second round. She is 35 over par. Campbell’s Sarah Bejgrowicz remains in the lead with a score of 69-71-140 and has improved to four under par. Competition will resume with the third and final round tomorrow morning on Kiawah Island.
