Lady Bucs Set for Weems Baskin InvitationalMarch 23, 2011By CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. – The original schedule had the Lady Buccaneer Track and Field teams traveling to a pair of meets this weekend, but Coach Tosha Ansley has elected to stick with one, taking her team up to Columbia, S.C., for the Weems Baskin Invitational. Hitting two meets in one weekend two weeks ago, the two CSU programs combined to win seven events, breaking multiple meet records in the process. The women’s team was led by the throwers, who claimed a clean sweep of the top four spots in the hammer throw, and four of the top five spots in the discus. The men’s team claimed victories in the 100m dash, hammer, long and triple jump, and the 5,000m run as Langford’s efforts to become more than just a sprint program have continued to shine through. Both teams will be at full strength for both meets this weekend and will look to improve their marks against a very solid field. Both teams took the past week off for Spring Break on campus.
