James Named to 2011 Preseason FCS All-American TeamAugust 3, 2011by CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C- Junior cornerback Charles James received another preseason honor as he was named to the 2011 Preseason FCS All-American 3rd Team as announced by College Sporting News on Wednesday. The honor comes after a standout sophomore season where James’ six interceptions were the most in the Big South and third in the nation. Along with record-setting picks, James led the Big South with 17 passes defended. James is just three interceptions away from breaking The Buccaneers career record. Last season, he was named the CPFA Division I FCS honorable mention performer of the week twice and was the Big South Defensive Player of the Week once. James adds this award to the Preseason CDS All-American and Sporting News Preseason All-American honors he received earlier this summer. College Sporting News will release its 10th annual postseason All-America team in the week following the NCAA Division I Football Championship game, scheduled for Jan. 7 in Frisco, TX.
