Baseball to Open Fall Schedule with Scout Day September 14, 2011by CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. – The CSU baseball team will open its fall schedule by hosting the team’s annual Major League Scout Day on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. Professional scouts will be on hand to take in the action as the team conducts work outs and an intra-squad scrimmage. “We are very excited to take the field as a team for the first time on Thursday,” said head coach Stuart Lake, who enters his fourth season at the helm of the Buccaneers. “There are 15 new players that will join our 21 returners on this fall’s roster. We are fortunate to start our fall season with our annual Major League Scout Day, where scouts will be present to evaluate our players. We will scrimmage a number of times throughout September and October to prepare for the upcoming season.” The Buccaneers are tentatively scheduled to scrimmage 20 times throughout the fall season.
