KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Top-five rounds by Jacobo Pastor and David Denlinger have kept the Charleston Southern men’s golf team in third place at the 2011 Wendy’s Kiawah Classic on Monday. The Bucs are hosting the event at the Turtle Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island. The Bucs are in third place as as a team after two rounds, shooting 300-289-589 to end the round 13 over par. Big South foe Campbell remains in the lead at eight over, followed by Kennesaw State at ten iver par. Pastor shot a 69 in the second round, recording four birdies to finish the day three under par. He is currently four under par with a score of 71-69-140. Denlinger is three strokes back and in fourth place after shooting a 71 in the second round to finish with a score of 72-71-143. He birdied four times on the back nine this afternoon. Choo Teck Ng jumped ten spots to 38th place, birdying twice on the front nine. Ng made a four stroke improvement from the first round to the second, shooting 79-74-153 to sit nine over par. Jason Sauder sits three strokes behind Ng and in 50th place after also making a ten-spot improvement in the standings. Sauder shot 80-76-156 and is 12 over par in the tournament. Will Pieper birdied once on the front nine and twice on the back nine to finish with a second round score of 80 for eight over par. He is currently in 64th place with a two-round score of 78-80-158 for 14 over par. Teammate Ross Thomson is in 69th, carding a score of 84-75-159 thus far. He is currently 15 over par. The Bucs will tee off for the third and final round tomorrow in a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available through the Golfstat website.
