CHARLESTON, S.C. – CSU sprinter Javon Young has received yet another accolade this week, earning Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men’s Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the league on Wednesday.
Young set a new CSU program record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.96 at the 2012 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Nationals in Nampa, Idaho on Friday. Young’s seventh place finish in the event earned him All-American honors – the first time in CSU history a Division I men’s runner has done so.
It is Young’s second BSC Track Athlete of the Week honors. He was also named the 2012 Outstanding Track Performer at the 2012 Big South Championship meet.
The Buccaneers will travel to Columbia, S.C., on March 24 to take part in the Weems Baskin Invite at the University of South Carolina.
