Football Set for Memorial Blue/Gold Game Saturday April 11, 2012by CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C. – Head coach Jay Mills and the CSU football team will wrap up spring practice with the Memorial Blue and Gold Spring Game this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Buccaneer Field. The game will feature the CSU offense vs. the Buccaneer defense as fans will get the opportunity to see the squad for the first time this spring as all previous practices have been closed to the public. The offense will follow the traditional scoring format and will receive and extra point for drives of eight plays or more. The defense will be awarded seven points for a touchdown, four for an interception, three for a fumble recovery and a point each for a tackle for loss, quarterback sack or a three & out forced punt. Halftime will feature the presentation of awards by the coaching staff to most improved players by the position coaches. The Eddie Gadson Memorial Scholarship will also be presented by Coach Mills, who will be joined by Ed and Paula Gadson. The CSU Football Alumni Club will meet prior to the game.
