Nimley Nets Mid-Major All-American Honors

by CSU Sports Information

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern freshman guard Saah Nimley has been named to the 2012 College Insider Mid-Major Freshman All-America Team, it was announced yesterday.

Nimley previously earned a spot on the Big South All-Freshman Team alongside fellow guard Arlon Harper. Nimley was one of only two Bucs to start all 31 games this past season, and teamed with Harper to form one of the better backcourts in the league as CSU posted a 19-win season for the first time since 1994-95.

Nimley tallied 20 or more points six times on the year, including a career-high 24 against both VMI (December 3) and Winthrop (January 21). The 5-8 guard from Lawrenceville, Georgia finished the campaign second on the team in scoring at 13.5 ppg, and led the club in assists with 3.9 helpers per contest. Nimley was also critical in CSU’s 88-74 win over Liberty in the Big South Tournament Quarterfinals, hitting his first five shots en route to a game-high 19 points as the Bucs won a postseason game for the first time since 2006.
