WELCOME TO 18th STREETT

Freshman Robbie Streett has been on fire as of late. The first baseman has reached base in 18 consecutive games dating back to April 7 vs. UNC-Asheville. Over that span Streett is batting .400 (24-for-60) with seven doubles and seven RBI. He has walked six times and has been hit twice by opposing pitchers. He also had a 12-game hitting streak during that time.

SUNDAY GEM

Four CSU pitchers combined to throw a complete game shutout on Sunday afternoon at VMI. Patrick Dolan went six innings for the Bucs while picking up his fourth victory of the year. He fanned eight VMI hitters while issuing only one walk in the contest. Denis Buckley, Kyle Ward and Corey Deighan each threw a scoreless inning of relief to complete the shutout for Charleston Southern. It was the first shutout for the pitching staff this season.

LEFTY DUO

Both left-handed and true freshmen, Chase Shelton and Bobby Ison continue to stay hot in the Buccaneer lineup. Shelton currently sits seventh in the Big South in batting average hitting .349, which leads all freshmen in the league. Ison is seventh in the league in total hits with 66 at this point, which also leads all freshmen in the Big South.

ON DECK

Charleston Southern will conclude the regular season this Thursday, Friday and Saturday when it plays host to the Big South leading Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at CSU Ballpark. Charleston Southern can still finish anywhere from second to eighth in the Big South standings so this weekend will prove pivotal for seeding.
