CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina will come to town this weekend as the CSU baseball team wraps up the regular season with a three-game series vs. their Palmetto State foes this weekend. Action will kick off on Thursday at 2 p.m. at CSU Ballpark. GAME NOTES | LIVE STATS | LIVE VIDEO SERIES HISTORY Charleston Southern welcomes Coastal Carolina to CSU Ballpark this weekend for the final regular season series for both squads. Thursday’s meeting will be the 87th between the two clubs on the baseball diamond. Coastal currently holds a 58-28 advantage in the overall series. Sophomore right-hander Denis Buckley has now thrown 16 1/3 innings without allowing a run while freshman first baseman Robbie Streett extended his streak to 19 straight games reaching base with a base-hit vs. UNCW on Tuesday evening. TORCHING THE BIG SOUTH Entering the final weekend of Big South play, CSU currently leads the league in batting average in Big South only games hitting .298 as a team. Individually, Chase Shelton is second in the same category batting .395 in BSC only games while Robbie Streett ranks sixth (.382) and John Faircloth is tenth (.372). MR. RELIABLE Senior relief pitcher Corey Deighan has been one of pitching coach Adam Ward’s main stables in the back end of the bullpen. Deighan has made 26 appearances for CSU this year, all out of the pen which ranks him fourth in the Big South. He also is sixth in the conference in saves, recording six to this point. BIDDING FAREWELL Charleston Southern will bid farewell to six seniors this weekend. All six will be honored with a ceremony on Saturday prior to the game. Walt Quattlebaum, Charlie McCready, Blake Hunt, Patrick Dolan, Brennan Dorsett and Corey Deighan will play their final games at CSU Ballpark this weekend. ON DECK Next in line for the Buccaneers will be the Big South conference tournament which begins Tuesday. The tournament will be held in High Point, and seedings and game times will be announced after the conclusion of all Big South games on Saturday.
