Noga Completes Season at USATF Junior Nationals

by CSU Sports Information

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – CSU thrower Joshlyn Noga completed outdoor competition of her freshman season by competing in the 2012 USA Track & Field Junior National Championships in Bloomington, Ind., this past weekend.

Noga placed 19th overall in her specialty, the shot put.  She finished with a throw of 12.93 meters (42-05.25).  Noga had previously finished third overall at the 2012 Big South Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a season-best throw of 14.43 meters.

"I was very proud of Joshlyn for fighting through an injury and still performing," says throws coach Josh Aydlette.  "She's come a very long way this year and capped off a great season by becoming the first female thrower in school history to compete at a national championship.  I'm confident we will see much bigger things from Joshlyn Noga in the future."

"After finishing my first year at CSU it has opened my eyes to great opportunities," says Noga.  "One day I hope to reach my potential and be a member of team USA.  I know with the help of my coach I will get there."
