Rose Resigns as Women's Golf CoachJune 18, 2012by CSU Sports Information CHARLESTON, S.C . – CSU women’s golf coach Ernie Rose has resigned from his position effective immediately to accept a position closer to his family in Minnesota. Rose took over the Lady Buccaneers at the beginning of the 2011-12 season after former head coach Kory Thompson accepted the head position at Augusta State. Rose guided the Buccaneers to the team title at the Richmond Spider Spring Break Invite this March, marking the first regular season team title since 2010. Under his guidance, the Lady Bucs placed fourth overall at the 2012 Big South Conference Championships, with Amanda D’Ostroph earning Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honors. “I have enjoyed my time at Charleston Southern,” says Rose. “I wish the team the best in the years to come.” CSU will conduct a nation-wide search to fill the position.
