Lady Bucs in 15th in incomplete second round at Palmetto Intercollegiate

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. - The Charleston Southern Lady Bucs are in 15th after nearly two complete rounds at the 2012 Palmetto Intercollegiate, which got underway on Sunday at Oak Point Golf Club. Windy conditions slowed the pace of play, leaving the 17-team field to finish out the second round on Monday morning.

CSU is 41-over par with only two holes left to play in its first two rounds. There Lady Bucs sit four strokes behind South Florida and seven strokes behind Xavier.

CSU fired a 311 in the opening round and has the fewest holes remaining of any team still on the course. Some teams have as many as five holes remaining.

Campbell leads the tournament at 1-over  and is 13 strokes ahead of East Tennessee State and in control at the event. Maryland and Michigan (+15) are tied for third, and Coastal Carolina (+17) if fifth.

Freshman Casey MacNeil fired a 1-under 71 in her opening round to lead CSU. She had six birdies in her opening round to bounce back from a triple bogey in the par-4 sixth hole. She is 3-over and on the 17th hole in her second round, currently tied for 10th. Maria Jose Benavides.

Campbell’s Teresa Urquizu is the tournament leader at 3-under, two strokes ahead of teammate

Senior Amanda D’Ostroph is tied for 62nd after bouncing back with a 75 (+3) in her afternoon round. She shot an 81 to open the day.

Junior Vanessa Jay is tied for 66th with one hole remaining in her second round. She shot an 81 (+9) to start the day.

Senior Katelyn Bensch is tied for 77th, while Torey Johnson is 93rd. CSU’s Viktoria Enhager is competing as an individual and is 84th.
