CHARLESTON, S.C. - Senior designated hitter Jeff Kolhagen had four hits and three RBI and senior shortstop Billy Dalton added four hits and scored three runs as Charleston Southern defeated Fordham, 11-3, in baseball action at Buccaneer Field on Friday afternoon.
Charleston Southern wins their fifth straight game and improves to 13-9 overall while Fordham falls to 8-6. The victory also improved CSU to a perfect 10-0 at home this season.
Junior Josh Evans (3-1) earned the victory for the Buccaneers, allowing three runs in six innings and striking out five. Evans threw five shutout innings before faltering in the sixth but allowed just seven hits on the day.
Sophomore first baseman Graham Maiden added two hits, along with freshman catcher Keith Stewart.
Brian Keeney led Fordham with three hits with catcher John Mollicone adding two hits and two RBI.
Game two of the three-game series is Saturday with the first pitch at 1 pm. CSU is scheduled to start senior left-hander Brad Bissell.Related Item: Box Score
