Florida State upends Buccaneers 12-2; series finale on SundayFebruary 4, 2006

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Eighth-ranked Florida State got six strong innings from starter Tyler Chambliss and used a pair of early three-run innings to cruise past Charleston Southern, 12-2, Saturday afternoon at Dick Howser stadium.
Chambliss allowed two hits and struck out seven to win his first start of the season. CSU starter Ryan Sowers took the loss for the Buccaneers. The two teams wrap up the series on Sunday at 1pm.
After CSU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, FSU responded with three runs in the second and three more in the fourth to take command of the contest. The Seminoles added four runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
First baseman Anthony Hayes had two hits and an RBI but the Bucs managed only four safeties on the day. CSU struck out 11 times on the day.
All-American centerfielder Shane Robinson had three hits and a pair of RBI sacrifice flies for the Seminoles.
