CHARLESTON, SC - The hosting Charleston Southern Lady Bucs lost 2-0 to the Campbell Camels in the second game of the Lloyd Sports Big South Challenge Friday.
Despite giving up two goals, CSU keeper Miki Wilson had a solid outing recording nine saves on 18 shots by the Camels.
The two teams played even for the first 73 minutes before Campbellís Kathryn Saunders grabbed the rebound off Wilson and put the ball in the top left corner of the net. The Camels struck again in the 80th minute when Tracy Taddonio gathered up another loose ball and with Wilson out of position fired a shot only to have it blocked on a wonderful play by Kate Basom. Taddonio got her own rebound though and didnít miss the second time, giving the Camelís the 2-0 lead.
With only 10 minutes left in the game the Lady Bucs tried desperately to get an offensive attack going to tie the game, but couldnít get any shots to go in.
In other action at Buccaneer Field today, Maine faced off against Coastal Carolina in the first part of the challenge. The Black Bears of Maine won that contest by a score of 1-0. Coastal Carolina will face Campbell tomorrow in the first game, the Lady Bucs will take on Maine tomorrow at 3:30 in the last game of the Lloyd Sports Big South Challenge.Related Item: Box Score
