Lady Bucs Hand Navy First Defeat 3-2; Hill and Sasan Named All-Tournament

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The defense shown by Charleston Southern (2-4) in their first victory of the day continued in match two as the amassed a season-high 11 team blocks  as they handed Navy (5-1) their first loss of the season in a five-set victory (25-16, 19-25, 16-25, 25-22, 15-12) Saturday at the Runnin’ Bulldog Classic.

CSU Fights Hard But Falls 41-23 at #13 Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A late Wofford score iced a back-and-forth contest, as the Terriers took down Charleston Southern 41-23 at Gibbs Stadium, Saturday night. The game, originally scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff at CSU, was moved to Wofford to avoid weather concerns with Hurricane Hanna.

Lady Bucs Sweep WSSU at Runnin' Bulldog Classic

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Charleston Southern made quick work of Winston Salem State University early Saturday afternoon as they swept them 3-0 to move to 1-4 on the season. As they have been all season, the Lady Bucs came out firing in set one, taking it 25-10, continuing on to win 25-19 and 25-17 in sets two and three, respectively, as WSSU fell to 0-5 on the season.

Lady Bucs Drop Heartbreaker to Gardner-Webb, 3-2

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Charleston Southern took the host team to the wire, but eventually fell 3-2 to Gardner-Webb at the 2008 Runnin’ Bulldog Classic. The Lady Bucs (0-4) stormed to an incredible 25-10 victory in set one, before GWU (1-3) came back to claim set two 25-20. CSU won set three 25-17 before the two closest sets went the way of the home team 25-23, 17-15.
