CHARLESTON, S.C. - Through 10 games in the 2020-21 season, the Charleston Southern women's basketball team boasts one of the elite shooting units in the NCAA Division I as the Buccaneers lead the Big South in field goal percentage and three-point percentage, as well as sitting among the national leaders behind the arc.
CSU sits 5-5 overall with a 3-3 record in Big South Conference play through the first two weeks of January as the Buccaneers prepare to welcome UNC Asheville to the Buc Dome this weekend.
The Bucs have posted six different games with at least a 40.0% team field goal percentage on the season and six contests with at least a 40.0% three-point percentage on the year as CSU continues its offensive resurgence under Head Coach
Fred Applin.
For the season, CSU enters the weekend sitting 12th overall in the NCAA in team three-point percentage at 39.3%. The mark is more than six points higher than High Point (33.2%) in the conference standings and leaves the Bucs just .03% from entering the top-10 in the NCAA.
Eight different players have hit multiple three-pointers on the Bucs' roster paced by
Sharita Godfrey's 19 on the season, while five players have hit at least 40.0% from deep on the year.
Over their last three games, the Bucs have converted at a 46.7% (64-of-137) clip, while also hitting 50.0% (20-of-40) of their three-pointers.
