Buccaneer women’s basketball adds Madison Adamson to 2021-22 roster

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern head women's basketball coach Clarisse Garcia announced the addition of Madison Adamson to the program on Thursday afternoon.

Adamson, a 6-0 forward from Hoover, Alabama, will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2021-22 season.

"I am incredibly excited to have Madison join our Charleston Southern Women's Basketball family!" Garcia said. "She comes to us as a genuine person, natural leader, incredible athlete, skilled player and proven winner. Madison's time at Hoover, where she was coached by Krystle Johnson, has enabled her to learn how a championship-winning culture done the right way operates and succeeds, so we are excited to have her bring that experience to CSU! Our players have embraced her week and we can't wait for Buc Nation to see her and her teammates compete this season!"

A versatile player who can line up at either forward spot, Adamson averaged 10 points, seven rebounds and two steals per game for Hoover High School, one of the top programs in the state of Alabama. During her time at Hoover, Adamson won a pair of state championships and was part of a Buccaneer team that went 122-10 over a four-year stretch, reaching the state finals in three of those seasons. Adamson was named team captain at Hoover for the 2019-20 season, a campaign which saw the Bucs post a 34-3 record, including an 8-0 mark in region play and a 12-0 mark at home. She was named Third Team All-Birmingham Region in 2020 and was named to the Over the Mountain All-Tournament team in 2020.

In addition to her accolades at Hoover, Adamson played AAU basketball for the Southern Starz, an organization based out of Huntsville, Alabama. Adamson's AAU team featured 10 Division I players.

Adamson was also an active member of Hoover's JROTC program, where she earned the school's Veterans of Foreign Wars Award in 2019. She also earned awards for academics and good conduct during that year. Adamson spent the 2020-21 year at the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School, where she was also a member of the Husky women's basketball team
